There is still plenty of time to submit entries to the 2019 McKnight’s  Excellence in Technology Awards program — the deadline is Wednesday (July 24).

Skilled nursing and assisted living providers may enter in one or more of the six categories.

The options are: Quality, High Tech/High Touch, Innovator of the Year, Keep It Super Simple (KISS), Safety/Resident Security, and, only for skilled care operators, Transitions. Senior living operators have the same categories to choose from, except Activities is in place of Transitions.

Last year’s Gold Award winner in the Dignity category was Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach, VA. The retirement community won for its Birdsong tablets, which have helped improve residents’ moods through digital engagement.

“It meant so much to us to win the award and we are still very much using the Birdsong tablets,” said Aisha Azher, coordinator of special projects at Westminster-Canterbury. “We’ve expanded our program to other communities as well.”

STANLEY Healthcare is this year’s program Platinum Sponsor. MatrixCare is the program’s Gold Sponsor for Senior Living.
