Providers across the country recently celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week in a variety of ways — ranging from barbecues to parties and even a fishing trip

But one operator chose to do things differently. The result was Super Bowl-sized gifts for workers worth thousands of dollars.

“Our team members have represented the very best in healthcare, and we are so proud and honored to stand beside them, and celebrate their incredible commitment to our beloved patients and residents,” Ashley Romano, chief experience officer, for CareRite Centers Network, said in a statement Tuesday.

The annual National Skilled Nursing Care Week was celebrated from May 8 -14 this year. This year’s theme was “Creating and Nurturing Connections.” Providers were encouraged to recognize outstanding daily efforts by caregivers.

CareRite added its own theme to the mix, “Embracing Seasons.” The theme is a call to embrace the tough times staff members have weathered together. “No matter the season, we are always here together for one reason: to provide unprecedented levels of genuine care and customer service, together,” the operator said.

The New Jersey-based operator, which has facilities in New York, New Jersey, Tennessee and Florida, gave out designer handbags, luxury textiles, home equipment and all-expenses paid vacation for two at each facility.

The operator’s 2022 Professional of the Year, Kay Weir, also received her $10,000 reward during the week. She said she plans to put the money toward higher education or student loan debt.

“This week is truly our organization’s Super Bowl,” Romano said, “and we are so honored to get to do what we do every day.”
