An 87-year-old Elvis Presley super fan finally got a chance to visit his home thanks to her family and staff at her nursing home.

“This just makes me so happy to see my beautiful little momma’s dream come true,” Becky Farmer, daughter of resident Mary Day, recently told Kentucky-based operator Signature HealthCARE. Day is a resident at the operator’s Sunrise Manor facility in Hodgenville, KY.

“Thanks so much to everyone that made this happen,” Farmer added.

Family and staff in mid-September surprised Day with the announcement after submitting an application through Signature’s Dream Equation program. The program works to help residents at Signature facilities across the country fulfill lifelong dreams, and Day’s was one of the first wishes to be granted though the program, according to staff.

“In the application that we received, it stated that Ms. Mary for many, many years and that her son, [Theodore], wanted to make this come true for her. He had actually planned to do that but unfortunately he had passed away before he could make that happen for her,” one staff member explained. “We wanted to make that happen for her in honor of him.”

Family, friends and staff all gathered at the facility and held an Elvis-themed party for Day before hitting her with the surprise: a trip to Graceland, the 13.8-acre estate in Memphis, TN, owned by Presley and the site of his death.

Day was all smiles, and even danced and clapped along to the singer’s music, after learning of the gift.
