Survey: Consumers satisfied with Massachusetts nursing homes
Families are generally satisfied with the care their loved ones are receiving in nursing homes, according to a Massachusetts nursing home consumer satisfaction survey.
Surveys showed an overall satisfaction rating of 4.25, based on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being very dissatisfied and 5 being very satisfied. The state received a total of 16,000 survey responses. Surveys were sent most often to the child or spouse of residents who had spent a month or more at 297 Massachusetts nursing homes.
Mandated by the legislature, the survey was conducted by Market Decisions, a Portland, ME-based survey research firm, and Rutgers University.
