Women are 60% more likely to have to enter a nursing home than men, according to a new study.

In addition, in 7 out of 10 instances American women bear the main brunt of providing unpaid long-term care to others, according to “The Impact of Long Term Care on Women — An Analysis of Women as Care Providers and Care Recipients” by Genworth Financial.

National polling data compiled by Public Opinion Strategies on behalf of Genworth showed that 67% of American women have provided long-term care to someone in need.
