Both female and male long-term care professionals are expected to be in heavy attendance Wednesday morning when top industry leaders address workforce and development issues during the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Virtual Forum.

Wendy Simpson and Lynne Katzmann, the 2020 and 2019 McKnight’s Lifetime Achievement winners, respectively, will team for a special interactive webinar, “Lessons Learned Along the Way.” They will reflect on how they have built successful long-term care and senior living companies, and also offer professional advice. The session will start at 10:45 a.m. and be moderated by McKnight’s Senior Living Editor Lois Bowers.

The Forum features three webinars in all, each offering free CE credit and an audience Q&A segment. It will kick off at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday with “Finding the Secret Sauce.” The session will spotlight three seniors’ housing and care executives and their efforts to attract, recruit and retain women in the workplace.

Featured speakers will be Lori Alford, chief operating officer at Avanti Senior Living; Brenda Bacon, president & CEO of Brandywine Living; and Leigh Ann Barney, president & CEO of Trilogy Health Services. McKnight’s Long-Term Care News Executive Editor James M. Berklan will moderate.

After the Simpson-Katzmann webinar, the Forum’s final session, “Breaking Through the Barricades,” will start at 12 noon ET. It will offer advice and tips from four of the 2020 program honorees: Eleanor Alvarez, president and CEO of The Ganzhorn Suites and LeaderStat; Akia Blandon, vice president of clinical services at the Plaza Rehab and Nursing Center; Mary “Molly” Forrest, CEO – president of the LA Jewish Home; and Jaclyn Pritchett, vice president of human resources – field operations at Brookdale Senior Living. McKnight’s Long-Term Care News Senior Editor Liza Berger will moderate.

The Forum is the second component of this year’s McKnight’s Women of Distinction online program. Registration can be completed here.

The educational Forum will take place on the heels of the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Virtual Awards Celebration, which will be held at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday. All 45 of the 2020 honorees (shown in a gallery here) will be feted with customized tribute videos during the unique ceremony, which also will feature testimonials by some of the biggest aging services leaders in industry and Congress.
