Transactions within the nursing care sector reached $500 million in the first quarter of 2017, according to the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care.

In a June blog post, NIC Senior Principal Bill Kauffman said that nursing care deal volume dropped a “significant” 54% from the previous quarter’s $1.2 billion. Compared to the first quarter of last year, SNF volume was down 77%.

Seniors housing, on the other hand, registered $4.1 billion in transactions in 1Q 2017, a 218% increase from 1Q 2016.
