Sense.ly, a “virtual nurse” solution providing personalized patient monitoring and follow-up care, announced that it raised $1.25 million in seed funding.

The company’s SaaS-based patient engagement platform combines advanced sensors and an avatar-based technology. In one pilot program, the company said its solution reduced patient calls by 28% and helped clinicians by saving up to a fifth of their time each day.

The company was announced recently as a finalist in the Allscripts Open App Challenge and IBM Watson Developer Challenge.
