Toyota unveils robot for bedridden residents

Toyota recently unveiled a robot intended to help bed-ridden patients function more independently. The Human Support Robot is able to pick up things from shelves or off the floor and bring them to the resident. It can open and close curtains and can be programmed to perform other tasks. Its unique interface allows it to respond to voice commands or tablet directions. Besides home use, Toyota predicts the robot may be used in assisted living and other senior living settings.
