Catholic Senior Housing and Health Care Services in Pennsylvania has partnered with Somatix, a wearable-assisted Remote Patient Monitoring platform, to develop the SafeBeing™ product.

SafeBeing will be deployed on the 20-acre campus and used in different levels of senior care.

CSHHCS, which has three healthcare facilities and nine senior living housing project buildings, operates 208 skilled nursing beds for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. Its Holy Family Manor skilled nursing facility is a preferred provider of the Lehigh Valley Health Network and the St. Luke’s University Health Network and a member of the Highmark High Performance Skilled Nursing Facility Network.

The pilot project’s goal is to incorporate SafeBeing’s digital health platform into the HFM care delivery platform, the provider said. Somatix’s product uses sensors in smartwatches and smartbands to track data.

“Our relationship with Somatix is very important to CSHHCS,” said Michael B. Melnic, the provider’s CEO and CFO. “We are impressed by SafeBeing’s capabilities to literally ‘learn’ the behavior of individuals, including real-time monitoring of elders’ Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).”
