PointRight Inc. has announced its PointRight® Pro 30™ rehospitalizations metric is now used in more than 9,000 skilled nursing facilities.

The metric has been adopted by the American Health Care Association and incorporated into its TrendTracker product in 2013. It’s also used by some accountable care organizations and managed care organizations.

The tool gives clients access to two real-time rates: observed and case-mix adjusted rehospitalization rates for both Medicare and all-payer groups. It compares these with national benchmarks. The service features root-cause analysis data as well as resident average length of stay data. It also provides the tools that facilities need to assess why residents returned to the hospital, determine areas of highest rehospitalization, as well as possible preventative measures, and crosswalk the rehospitalized resident with other outcomes to improve quality of care.

PointRight has recently moved its headquarters from Lexington, MA, to Cambridge, MA, and announced that Munther A. Dahleh, Ph.D., of MIT, has joined its Board of Directors.
