Steve Pacicco has succeeded John Damgaard as president and CEO of MatrixCare, the company announced Monday.

Pacicco brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and healthcare technology to his new role. He most recently was vice president of portfolio strategy and corporate development for the ResMed SaaS business. He came to ResMed through its acquisition of MatrixCare, where he was executive vice president of corporate development and operations.

Before MatrixCare, Pacicco was CEO of SigmaCare, which was acquired by MatrixCare in 2017, from its founding in 2006, leading the business through substantial growth and expansion. Before SigmaCare, he served in various executive capacities with Amicore and Pfizer.

Pacicco has an MBA with honors from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University.

Damgaard became president of MatrixCare in September 2012 and CEO in August 2013. The company ranked highest on the 2019 Best in KLAS list of long-term care software companies for the third consecutive year.

Before MatrixCare, he was chief operating officer at Mediware Information Systems. He also formerly held business management and technical positions with CGN and Associates, Maytag Corp. and IBM.

Damgaard earned an MBA from Bradley University and an undergraduate degree in computer science and mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa.
