Optimus EMR announced that, effective April 14, the Indiana Board of Pharmacy approved its application as an Electronic Data Intermediary. Only e-prescriptions submitted through an approved EDI are considered valid in the state.

The approval allows Indiana customers to increase efficiency with order entry, and means increased safety and ensuring that the CPOE and pharmacy system are in sync.

“Many other interfaces which claim to be fully functional, are not fully automated or bi-directional, which means that the customers don’t realize the same benefits as using the Optimus EMR with the pharmacy interface activated,” said Robert C. Davis, Optimus CEO.
