NOTIFY has released NOTIFY Communications, a single-platform communications app designed for senior living communities, early in the wake of COVID-19.

NOTIFY Communications is a video, text and voice app that provides essential communications and telehealth capabilities, enabling seniors to connect with caregivers, healthcare providers, families and friends. It was originally slated to launch later this year.

“The spread of COVID-19 has shown that the most vulnerable members of the population are senior citizens, and their caregivers find themselves on the front lines, assisting and supporting residents while also keeping themselves safe,” said NOTIFY Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager Greg Robertson. “In the past, nurses and caregivers reported getting up to 400 pendant and pull cord alerts a day, and we have seen that number swell to 1,500 in the wake of COVID-19. Our experience in senior housing has guided the creation of a solution that provides instantaneous information that safeguards residents while simultaneously providing comprehensive reporting to help managers fine tune their operations.”

At a time when seniors are experiencing heightened isolation, NOTIFY Communications provides the ability to video chat with anyone, anywhere and helps minimize loneliness while increasing the sharing of information. The company said senior facilities piloting the app reported a return on investment within three to four days through enabled communication efficiencies and heightened accountability.

With integrated access to prior communications, resident summaries and consultation history, managers can use the NOTIFY dashboard and recurring reports to get up to speed quickly and help residents with their needs. NOTIFY also provides instantaneous electronic retrieval, with event responses down to the second.
