Up To Date Laundry has opened a new healthcare laundry processing facility in East Baltimore. The company will add an additional 72 million pounds of processing capacity and 400 new jobs over the next five years.
The company is working with the “One Baltimore” program to create jobs in East Baltimore. It has received financing for the expansion through Revere Bank.
“We chose this location to continue our commitment to the City of Baltimore by providing jobs to areas that can benefit from additional employment opportunities and by building our facilities focusing on sustainability of the environment. We’re confident that we’ll be serving the healthcare community in the Mid-Atlantic region for another 70 years,” said Mark Carter, President of Up To Date Laundry.
Up to Date provides laundry services to Johns Hopkins Hospital. Its division of Up to Date Healthcare provides linen rental items to physicians, nursing homes and surgery centers. It also offers consulting services.
