Halyard Health has introduced a new dispenser system to reduce glove waste and contamination. The Eco Pull dispenser system, designed for acute and non-acute settings, ensures only one glove is dispensed at a time.
With typical dispensers, healthcare professionals must reach deeper in to retrieve gloves as the box empties, increasing the likelihood that gloves remaining inside become contaminated. Unwanted gloves placed back in the box can compromise infection control efforts.
When compared to common dispensers, Eco Pull’s patent-pending design reduces multiple dispensing by over 50%, Halyard reports. It works by continuously lifting gloves to the top as each pair is removed. Halyard reports that gloves within the dispenser showed 50% less contamination compared to gloves in common film-covered dispensers.
