Netsmart  has acquired post-acute healthcare consulting firm Quality In Real Time, the companies announced Tuesday. Together, Netsmart and QIRT will be the largest service provider in the post-acute community, with more than 400 associates.

QIRT will become part of the McBee strategic consulting business unit to expand McBee’s OASIS, minimum data set coding and advisory consulting services for post-acute care and behavioral health providers. The acquisition builds on Netsmart’s suite of operational, financial and clinical services by leveraging additional QIRT offerings, such as MDS and uniform assessment system reviews.

“Netsmart and QIRT have a mutual dedication to quality of services and products. This commonality of values will further scale the Netsmart services offering to support and help post- acute agencies thrive. This partnership also brings together the top two OASIS and coding providers to serve the post-acute community,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “The merger of QIRT with McBee will provide the resources needed to allow Netsmart to deliver increased value to clients and will provide the opportunity for QIRT’s clients to leverage other Netsmart solutions and services.”

For more than 10 years, QIRT has provided the post-acute market healthcare advisory and consulting expertise.

In other Netsmart news, a new COVID-19 mobile screening solution is expected to help organizations safely reopen as coronavirus restrictions ease.

The Netsmart COVID-19 mobile screening solution can be used as a safety measure for staff, clients and visitors. It surveys individuals regarding travel and exposure; existing health conditions; and current symptoms such as difficulty breathing, fever, cough and prior COVID-19 testing results. The screening solution is accessible on a smartphone, tablet or PC.

The tool records results and prior testing in the Netsmart CarePathways analytics platform for visualization, trending and hot spot mapping. The screening solution also has the ability to integrate electronic care reporting to public health departments and the CDC if needed, via the Netsmart CareConnect network. Netsmart is offering the COVID-19 Mobile Screening Solution at no cost for 90 days, then a recurring fee ensues after the 90-day period.

The mobile solution follows Netsmart’s previous creation of a COVID-19 Resource Center for providers to access support for technology needs, industry updates and new information.

“Working hand-in-hand with our clients, we have been able to identify and rapidly deliver solutions to keep our communities as safe as possible as we work together to move forward during this difficult time,” said Mike Valentine, Netsmart CEO. “The COVID-19 Mobile Screening Solution is one example of partnering with clients to innovate quickly to bring solutions and services to the market, when needed.”
