The Villa at River Parkway in Milwaukee will close in March, the facility announced.

Factors included physical limitations in the size and structure, along with “financial realities,” executives said.

“The decision to close the River Parkway center was not one we made lightly,” said David Devereaux, Chief Operating Officer at Villa Healthcare. “At Villa, we pride ourselves on making people better — from our residents to our team members — and we intend to live these values throughout the duration of the relocation process.”

A sister facility, Villa at Bradley Estates in Milwaukee, may be able to take residents currently at River Parkway, and there will be a centralized resource center to provide information to residents and families, the provider said.

Villa at River Parkway has received approval from the state to close. Its employees will be given a personalized employee retention plan in an effort to allow them to move to Villa at Bradley Estates.
