MDI Achieve/MatrixCare entered into a definitive agreement to purchase the assets of Right Click Software, which has an integrated marketing, financial and operational platform for assisted living facilities.

The new feature set will be called “Matrix Care for Assisted Living,” the company said.

As part of the deal, Steven Vick, the founder of Right Click and the past chairman of the Assisted Living Federation of America, will be a strategic advisor to the company.

“I am excited by the MatrixCare vision and am very pleased to work with MDI Achieve in providing a new level of technical capability to assisted living providers. MatrixCare for Assisted Living will allow them to prosper in an era of rising resident acuity, growing reimbursement complexity, and increasing needs to collaborate across the continuum of care,” he said.

In other MDI Achieve/MatrixCare news, the company announced Tuesday that it is forming a strategic partnership with Pathway Health to provide a comprehensive solution to aid providers with their transition to ICD-10.

The customized approach will help providers get their electronic health records in order well in advance of the Oct. 1 deadline for transition to ICD-10, MDI Achieve CEO John Damgaard said. Pathway President and COO Peter B. Schuna pointed out the need for a comprehensive, high-quality toolkit to deal with the 87,000 new code sets ICD-10 will bring with it. The joint venture will help providers deal with claims denials, cash flow disruption and decreased productivity, among other potential challenges.
