Magellan Health recently announced a new automated prior authorization solution in collaboration with Stanson Health, Premier’s clinical decision support technology division.
The tool is called DecisionPoint and provides clinical guidelines for determining the medical necessity of certain imaging procedures to inform providers and enable authorization determinations in real time, improving the efficiency of the overall PA process for providers and health plans, while also enhancing the member experience and maintaining clinical integrity.
As part of the collaboration, Hawaii Pacific Health will be one of the groups to participate in a pilot to test the device.
