Certain Medtronic MiniMed Paradigm Insulin Infusion sets are being recalled, the Food and Drug Administration announced on Friday.

The affected products were manufactured between October 2001 and June 2013 and are intended to be used with Paradigm insulin infusion pumps. Diabetic patients may use the infusion sets in order to maintain acceptable blood glucose levels.

However, Medtronic discovered a possible safety issue if insulin or other fluids came into contact with the inside of the tubing connector, which can temporarily block the vents. This can result in too much or two little insulin being delivered.

The models recalled are listed here. Medtronic’s 24-hour helpline is (888) 204-7616.
