Friendship Retirement Community recently celebrated the construction of Friendship Health & Rehab South, a new rehabilitative skilled nursing care facility in southwest Roanoke, Virginia.

The $13 million, 73,000-square-foot facility will have 120 beds in private rooms. Its construction, led by Turner-Long Construction Company, is estimated to be completed by fall of 2015.

The new facility will offer space to the growing demand of on-site patient rehabilitation, which has outgrown Friendship’s largest, 373-bed facility in Virginia. The 30-minute groundbreaking ceremony took place at the site of construction Aug. 2.

Friendship Health and Rehab provides skilled and immediate nursing care, sub acute care, inpatient physical, speech and occupational rehabilitation, memory care, physiatry and palliative care.
