Emeritus Senior Living is on track to hire 1,000 veterans and military spouses over the next five years, the company announced.

As of Monday, the company had hired 182 veterans and 92 spouses since February, when it announced its plan to hire veterans.

Their goal is “the first such veteran recruiting program in America’s senior living industry,” the company said.

Most veterans who have been hired work in dining services, but other open positions include driver, resident care director, wellness nurse, medication technician and certified nursing assistant, as well as administrative positions.
