Ecolab recently released a new survey that discusses impressions of a facility’s cleanliness.

Ecolab Inc. recently commissioned a survey of 400 people involved in selecting senior living communities. More than 90% of respondents said that if a community is not clean, it suggests a lack of resident care, and that they also were looking for high-quality dining services. More than 80% said they expected a fresh salad bar during meals, and half said they wanted to see vegan or vegetarian items available. Forty-three percent said they expected gluten-free items.

In-room Wi-Fi was listed as important by almost half of respondents, and the vast majority said upscale finishes such as hardwood floors or granite countertops were important as well. Women were reported to be more focused on details than men and have higher standards for cleanliness, food variety and activities.
