Cantata Health’s Disaster Recovery Program has been launched for users of its long-term care platform, NetSolutions.

The program is designed to help skilled nursing facilities faced with a natural or unexpected disaster by offering help with transferring their financial and clinical software to the cloud, the company said. SNF professionals can access their systems until normal operations resume.

The program is complimentary for clients for 60 days. Clients can then choose to continue using the secure, hosted system for a monthly fee, or move back to their older environment.

“Unfortunately, we see disasters strike healthcare facilities of all types across the U.S.,” said Rich Zegel, Chief Technology Officer for Cantata Health. “We are proud of our commitment to be a true partner in healthcare to our clients and with that, it simply is the right thing to do — to help them when they may need help the most. By moving clients to a cloud-hosted environment during a time of need, it can save countless amounts of patient data.”

The HIPAA security rule requires a data backup plan, a disaster recovery plan, and an emergency mode operation plan for all healthcare organizations, the company noted.
