Blue Mesa Health Inc. has created Transformemos, a Spanish-language version of its digital Diabetes Prevention Program.

The linguistic translation of the company’s Transform DPP also has a greater focus with culturally specific curriculum.

The DPP Transform program began in 2015 as a way to help prediabetic or diabetic patients. It combines software, home health monitoring, Fitbit trackers and remote health coaching. Participants share a goal of losing around 5% to 7% of their body weight and reducing their type 2 diabetes risk.

“One piece of feedback we have heard consistently from customers is that the Hispanic and Latino communities are underserved by current DPP offerings. There are indeed many great community programs out there which are available in Spanish, however. Transformemos is the first truly scalable Spanish-language DPP,” said Blue Mesa Health Inc. CEO Curtis Duggan.

Transformemos is based upon the CDC’s Prevenga el T2 curriculum, which was released in early 2016.
