A new podcast from The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, APIC, looks to provide clinicians with easy-to-use information about infection prevention strategies.

The “5 Second Rule,” which takes its name from a questionable food-safety standard, will cover a range of topics relatable to the healthcare community and the wider public.

The first episode, “Myth Busters: Vaccines Edition,” dispels several myths that commonly circulate about vaccines. It shares the benefits of vaccines for the vaccinated and for those around them in conjunction with International Infection Prevention Week (October 13-19).

“At APIC, we believe that infection prevention is everybody’s business, so our podcast covers the topics that matter to — and affect — everyone,” said APIC CEO, Katrina Crist, MBA, CAE. “ We’re talking to infection preventionists and other experts to learn the truth about some common myths related to the risk of infection and to provide pertinent information to share with family, friends, and neighbors.”

The podcast is available for download on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Google Podcasts and Spotify, with new episodes the second Tuesday of every month.
