A Pennsylvania nursing home has scored a victory for 14 of its residents, whose ballots were tossed in a Nov. 5 election.
A GOP poll watcher flagged 67 absentee ballots from the Delaware County nursing home after saying the signatures on the ballot envelopes looked questionable, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Six ballots later were approved.
The Broomall Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Broomall, PA, filed an appeal on behalf of 14 of its residents, and Judge Joseph P. Cronin Jr. ruled in their favor Wednesday.
“The nursing home is glad that the appeals ran their course,” David Porter, attorney for center, told the Inquirer. “It is pleased that its residents’ votes will be counted.”
The case is under review by the district attorney’s Special Prosecution Unit, according to the paper.
