The American Health Care Association announced that it will sponsor the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary Debate, which airs on Oct. 11.

AHCA is sponsoring the WBIN local network broadcast. Bloomberg and The Washington Post will co-host the debate, which also will be broadcast globally on Bloomberg Television and on washingtonpostlive.com. This debate will be the first of this election cycle to focus exclusively on the economy.

The association’s sponsorship of the event was announced at AHCA’s 62nd Annual Convention in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

“The debate will focus on a subject that is crucial for the future of the long-term care profession,” said AHCA President and CEO Mark Parkinson. “Given that our sector is such a vital force in the nation’s economic recovery, our presence here is not only relevant, but very important for the future of our profession.”

An association spokeperson told McKnight’s that the New Hampshire event is the only debate that the organization is planning to host at this time.
