Nurses in California have accused a healthcare provider of violating as many as 22 state regulations, according to a statement released by their union.

United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals said it had filed a 900-count "quality of care" complaint against Sharp HealthCare, the largest private employer in San Diego. Sharp has four acute-care hospitals, three specialty hospitals, and other facilities and services.

In the complaint, nurses said they were concerned about "patient safety, inadequate staffing, lack of training, faulty equipment and more," the union's statement said. A contract between Sharp and the union expires June 30, according to a spokesperson for the provider.
