Mather LifeWays, a not-for-profit organization is planning to offer anational training program for long-term care providers to prepare them for natural disasters and public health emergency preparedness challenges.

The PREPARE program is expected to reach more than 25,000 long-term care workers over the next three years through national conferences, Web courses, train-the-worker workshops and continuing education. They will  gain knowledge, skills and abilities in bioterrorism/emergency preparedness surveillance and response and recovery.

Mather LifeWays received a three-year cooperative grant totaling $1,968,559 from the Health Research and Services Administration for the program.
