Frontline, ProPublica slam assisted living sector in documentary airing tonight

The National Labor Relations Board announced it is delaying the implementation of its notice-posting rule until April 30 instead of Jan. 31.

The board said it “has determined that postponing the effective date of the rule would facilitate the resolution of the legal challenges that have been filed with respect to the rule.”

This extension follows an October ruling by the board that will require employers to post unionization information on workplace bulletin boards. Long-term care provider groups argue the rule is detrimental to small businesses, such as nursing homes. They say the industry increasingly is being targeted for unionization.
