A federal judge intends to grant an injunction filed by the National Labor Relations Board that would put approximately 600 workers back on the job at five nursing homes in Connecticut.

The workers have been on strike since July. They protest what they say are labor concessions imposed by Parsippany, NJ-based HealthBridge/Care One, the owner of the facilities: Danbury Health Care Center, Long Ridge in Stamford, West River Health Care Center in Milford, Westport Health Care Center and Newington Health Care Center.

The NLRB injunction asked that workers be allowed to return to work and receive back pay. NLRB upheld the union claims of wrongful termination last year, and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy (D) has said he supports the nursing home employees.

John Cotter, who leads the NLRB in Connecticut, said Judge Robert Chatigny indicated Tuesday he intends to grant the injunction but is considering a request for a stay being submitted by the employer.
