New seniors housing guide details spending, attitudes
The total seniors housing capitalized market value now stands at more than $176 billion, according to the new seniors housing industry resource from the American Seniors Housing Association.
The fourth edition of the "Seniors Housing Statistical Handbook" includes demographics on the senior population, housing characteristics and accompanying financial information. It covers a wide range of seniors options, from nursing homes to independent living.
The comprehensive guidebook includes statistics on everything from the number of elderly Americans, to the reasons those 65 and older make their housing preferences, to the numbers and types of managed senior housing properties.
The report is available for $125 ($95 for ASHA members) at www.seniorshousing.org or by calling (202) 237-0900.
