Hayley Boutte is no ordinary administrator. In the 10 years she has worked at Maison Teche Nursing Center, in Jeanerette, LA, she has made a major difference in the lives of her residents and the older adults of Jeanerette.
For example, in her two-year tenure as administrator, she has built a team that has quickly led the facility from 1-star to 4-star status. Then, as a board member of the Iberia Parish Council of Aging, she helped create the council’s social media platform to bring awareness to Iberia Parish’s elderly population and their needs. She also works to secure donations throughout the year to assist with service costs, such as Meals on Wheels and transportation needs. And the Maison Teche’s Annual Gumbo Cook-Off, which she and her team organize, helps to raise money for the Iberia Parish Council on Aging.
Throughout the year, the facility participates in as many community events as possible to bring people information on eldercare issues, such as the financial issues involved in nursing home care and how to take care of loved one at home.
The greater community of Jeanerette also benefits from Boutte’s kindness. Each school year, under her guidance, the facility sponsors a teacher with a gift card or other donation, such as school supplies. The facility also provides school supplies for its employees’ children at the beginning of the school year. And during the holiday season, the facility raises funds for a family in need.
Boutte also teaches the importance of giving back at home with her three children. On Sundays, she volunteers her time as a kindergarten religion teacher. Her generosity and compassion clearly extend to all those in her path.
