While in college, Amanda Elliot completed an internship on the Hawaiian islands at a Life Care Services community. Although some might have become hooked on the location, Elliot got attached to the job.

Not long after her internship, Elliot was selected for a professional development program when her passion for the industry became clear. After proving herself in many different roles, Elliot is now the corporate operations director for Life Care Services in Savannah, GA.

Before landing in this role, Elliot served in multiple interim administrator positions, became a licensed nursing home administrator and was the executive director at the Marshes of Skidaway Island retirement community. In these roles, she provided oversight to the skilled nursing, memory care, home care, nurse practitioner clinics and environmental services departments.

In her current position at Life Care Services, Elliot maintains a clear focus on resident peace of mind and safety. For 10 years, she has earned 99% to 100% resident satisfaction scores at her community. She was named top performer in 10 of the 12 categories scored for this assessment. She also has successfully evacuated all residents and employees in three hurricanes and led the company’s COVID-19 response.

Elliot also participates in committees to strengthen her own community and more often to educate and encourage students interested in the long-term care industry. She is a co-chair for Extraordinary Impressions, the resident and employee service culture committee.

Elliot provides guidance for students at Georgia Southern/Armstrong University and has served as a preceptor for two administrator-in-training candidates and three senior living interns. Because of her interaction with college students, her community is a popular one for internships. Colleagues say she has brought many new talented individuals into the industry.

In addition to her job at Life Care Services and working with students, Elliot loves to help her community through programs through the Alzheimer’s Association, Ronald McDonald House, Second Harvest Food Bank and more.
