“McKnight’s Long-Term Care News” was a common phrase in national journalism competitions recently.

The publisher’s editorial staff earned the Gold Award for “Best News Coverage” for the ninth straight year in the 2018 American Society of Health Publication Editors contest. It also won the Silver Award for Best Website — www.mcknights.com.

In addition, staff members earned a Platinum, three Golds and three Honorable Mentions in the Hermes Creative Awards.

Art Director Mark Speakman led with a Platinum for his media kit production. He and Senior Editor Elizabeth Newman teamed for Gold for their production of a special supplement for sponsor SCA.

A Gold Award also went to the Daily Editors’ Notes blog and the “Executive Decisions” bi-monthly Q&A in the Executive Interviews category.

In addition, “Rehab Realities” blogger Renee Kinder earned a national Silver Award and Speakman and Editorial Director John O’Connor won a Bronze Award for their e-book “Medication Management Enters a New Phase,” produced for Omnicare, from the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
