LTC insurance holders grow to 7 million, magazine says
A total of seven million Americans own private long-term care insurance, according to a magazine report.
The seven million comprise individual policyholders, as well as those who purchased coverage through employer-sponsored plans, in addition to plans sponsored by the federal and state governments, according to Jesse Slome, editor-in-chief of Long-Term Care Insurance Sales Strategies magazine. He is also co-founder of the nonprofit American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.
"Considering the relative short time that long-term care insurance has been marketed in the United States, the growth of sales demonstrates a very positive trend," he said.
