While providers have made some progress with reducing rehospitalizations, the era of managed care organizations and better hospital partnerships means new strategies are needed.

Attendees at the McKnight’s Online Expo this month will learn nursing practices to reduce rehospitalizations and attract partners during the Quality session. The session, featuring presenter Ellen Rychlik, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing at ElderWood at Hamburg, will help providers identify weaknesses and capitalize on strengths.

“They need to develop systems that support their goals, once identified, and effectively change the organizational culture to sustain that of their efforts. Then, and only then, will they become the ‘partner of choice,” she says.

The session will start at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m PT on Thursday, March 26. The 9th Annual Online Expo kicks off Wednesday, March 25 with  “The current science of pressure ulcer prevention (Or It’s Still Rock and Roll To Me)” lead by wound care expert Janice Beitz, PhD.

Capital formation, MDS 3.0 and technology also will be featured topics. Attendees are encouraged to network with other long-term care providers in the lounge and virtually stroll through the vendor booths on the expo floor. There will be prizes, giveaways, and five continuing education credits available — all at no cost.
