Attorney John Durso, Ungaretti & Harris LLP

Nursing home workers at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care in Altoona, PA, recently have renounced union representation after presenting a petition to facility owners. But the SEIU is continuing its struggle to unionize the employees.

The SEIU, which represents nursing home employees across the country, has appealed to the National Labor Relations Board, questioning the validity of the petition, according to the Altoona Mirror. Union officials also question some of the workers claims, saying they have done a lot for the workers, according to the report.

Attorney John Durso will be discussing methods for improving labor relations at the upcoming McKnight’s Online Expo. He will be available on March 27 and 1 p.m. EST to field questions about union activity and labor relations.
