McKnight's Fall Online Expo is Sept. 10

Ohio Living announced last week that it discovered an unauthorized third-party gained access to its employee email accounts. It’s a good reminder for providers to examine their systems for email, records and other electronic systems.

“ Cyber threats and compliance challenges: Managing technology risk in aging services” will be the topic of the first session of the free McKnight’s Annual Fall Online Expo, which returns on Sept. 26. During the session, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Eastern Time, experts with the Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network will explore some of the most common cyber threats for nursing homes, both external and internal. Jennifer Griveas, chief human resources officer, and Michael Gray, director of IT, will also offer best practices and interventions for both users and IT professionals.

Participants can earn one free CE credit for attending the session, and also may visit the virtual exhibit hall to connect with vendors and see the top products and services in the long-term care market. Click here to register and to learn more about the speakers, sessions and sponsors.

Those seeking further additional information about the Ohio Living incident can visit the organization’s website or call the dedicated assistance line that has been set up at (877) 670-0980, which is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Eastern Time, on weekdays.
