The number of patients killed by the coronavirus has increased again for the Washington state nursing home at the center of the United State outbreak. And so has the number of area facilities with infected patients or workers.

The King County Public Health Department reported Tuesday that there have been 22 confirmed deaths, with 19 associated with the Life Care Center of Kirkland.

In a statement Tuesday, the facility acknowledged its staff members, other healthcare workers and patient families “who have shown grace and patience with us while we navigate an unprecedented event.”

“We mourn for those residents we’ve lost and are hopeful for full recoveries for those [who remain] in hospitals,” the facility stated.

The facility also reported that two workers have returned, and 30 employees currently working in the facility have been tested for the virus. Sixty-four workers are still showing signs of the disease and are currently not working at the facility.

In all, King County has reported 190 confirmed cases. Though Life Care Center was the first site of an outbreak nationwide, the Public Health Department there stated that it’s now working with 10 long-term care facilities where residents and employees have tested positive for the virus.
