The deadline to submit applications for McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards program is Friday.

Nominators hoping to take part in the recognition program have until then (Jan. 18) to have the entrance fee waived. After that and until Jan. 31, a late fee of $25 will apply.

Both McKnight’s Long-Term Care News and its sister brand, McKnight’s Senior Living, launched the Women of Distinction last month, with an eye toward honoring female leaders who have made their mark on their profession.

“As the field’s leading publication, we realized it is time to celebrate women who have given so much to their residents, coworkers and the field of eldercare,” Publisher Craig Roth said. “McKnight’s is thrilled to launch this program in the hopes of shining a light on some of our most deserving readers.”

Eligible entrants include women serving as direct care providers, managers, executives, and owners in skilled nursing, along with those in other types of eldercare. Awards will be bestowed in two categories — Hall of Honor, for those who at a level equivalent to vice president or higher, and Rising Stars, for women under the age of 40, or who have fewer than 15 years of experience.

Anyone is welcome to submit a nomination, although vendors are excluded from participation.
