» Premier Inc., a healthcare group purchasing alliance with 56,000 non-acute healthcare facilities, filed for an initial public offering of its stock. Headquartered in North Carolina, the company applied to list shares in the NASDAQ Capital Market under the symbol PINC.

» MDI Achieve is partnering with OnShift to boost interoperability. MDI Achieve’s MatrixCare is an electronic health record system and OnShift has labor management software. “This integration will support providers in calculating a total per-patient-day cost, which they must do to profitably participate in ACOs and bundled payment initiatives,” said MDI Achieve Chief Executive Officer and President John Damgaard. 

» SigmaCare has acquired 6N Systems, a provider of financial and clinical tools, to streamline the company’s workflow, information management and operations for the long-term and post-acute market. SigmaCare selected 6N because of its “highly scalable architecture built on the latest technology, their commitment to professional services and the strength of the 6N team,” said Stephen Pacicco, SigmaCare’s CEO.

» Capital One Financial Corporation announced it has an agreement to acquire Beech Street Capital, a privately held servicer of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA multifamily commercial real estate loans. Beech Street was founded in 2009 and originated around $4 billion in loans in 2012. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

» Sage North America and McKesson Pharmacy Systems & Automation announced a partnership to develop the McKesson Mobile Delivery application. The app was introduced at the company’s ideaShare 2013 conference and has 50 pharmacies signed on. It is designed to let pharmacies make home deliveries and process payments with devices that include iPhones and iPads.

» Caring.com announced its 10 “Caring Champion” award winners in August. Selena Brown of Rest Assured Nursing in California was the top winner, receiving $500. Runners-up received $100 each.
