As the rollout of the Patient-Driven Payment Model approaches, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has launched a new website.

The site includes fact sheets, frequently asked questions, training presentations and implementation tools to help providers prep for PDPM, which launches Oct. 1, 2019.

The new case-mix model will focus on residents’ condition and care needs, rather than the amount of care provided, to determine reimbursement levels. PDPM, a switch from the originally pitched RCS-1, will replace the Resource Utilization Group system, or RUG-IV, used to categorize Part A residents into various payment groups based on their level of need.

To help providers prepare for this new model, CMS is also hosting an informational call on Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. ET. Participants can register here and submit questions  to [email protected] with “December 11 Call” in the subject line. The final rule is also posted here.
