A comprehensive review of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' quality measurement efforts since 2006 paints a mostly positive picture of quality measurements in nursing homes.

The “2015 National Impact Assessment of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Quality Measures Report” shows “clear progress in improving the healthcare delivery system to achieve the three aims of better care, smarter spending, and healthier people,” CMS said.

CMS Acting Principal Deputy Administrator Patrick Conway, M.D., said a key finding in the report concluded that 95% of 119 publicly reported performance rates across seven quality-reporting programs showed improvement from 2006 to 2012.
