CMS provider call next month to focus on RUG-IV changes, payment issues

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a conference call for providers on Nov. 9 to discuss some of the recent significant changes made to the Resource Utilization Group-Version 4 (RUG-IV) system.

The call is scheduled for 2 pm EDT, and is expected to last roughly 90 minutes. Following a formal presentation, CMS experts will be on hand for a question-and-answer session. Providers wishing to participate in the call must register to receive call-in information. To register, visit www.eventsvc.com/palmettogba/110910.

The call is part of a series of calls geared toward educating providers about the changes made to the RUG-IV prospective payment case-mix system on Oct. 1. Earlier topics include MDS 3.0 reporting, the RUG-III to RUG-IV transition and Medicare required therapy assessments. Information and recordings from those calls are available on the CMS website.
