The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is offering web-based training for skilled nursing providers on how to conduct standardized cognitive and mood assessments in residents.

The training includes four virtual, on-demand courses that give providers an overview of key clinical considerations required to perform these assessments in the nursing home setting, the agency announced Friday.

The courses include interactive exercises that allow participants to test the knowledge they gain. Other courses offered in this training cover cognitive function and delirium assessments as well as resident mood interview skills.

Links to all four courses can be found on this page (scroll down), and the cognitive and mood assessment training course is available here.
