The discovery of two nursing home employees with tuberculosis has led to a drive to test more than 500 workers, residents and former residents for signs of the disease, California health authorities said.

A nurse’s assistant and a housekeeper were found to be infected with the potentially deadly disease at Villa Pomerado Skilled Nursing Facility, a 96-bed facility in Poway, CA.

Officials with Palomar Pomerado Health, the nursing home’s owner, said they have been working to notify past and present employees, residents and visitors.
