New Web tool allows some nursing homes to compare themselves with peers

The American Health Care Association introduced a new Web-based tool this week that offers a way for member organizations to compare themselves with their peers.

LTC Trend Tracker allows providers to analyze their quality and financial information themselves and that of their competitors, explained Bill Hartung, vice president of research for AHCA. He unveiled the new instrument during the association’s 59th Annual Convention & Expo this week in Nashville.  To get information, facilities supply their own Medicare Resource Utilization Group (RUG) payment information into the system.

As a point of comparison, facilities can select a peer group based on a city or state, urban or rural location, or type of facility. They can view public and proprietary information. The tool is available to AHCA members at www.ltctrendtracker.com.
